Ever year, we look forward to the Halloween Holiday weekend. And this year, it is more than just a holiday weekend — it is a looong weekend (Monday October 31st and Tuesday November 1st are public holidays here in Manila). Based on our experience from yesteryear’s, going to the cemetery during this holiday is not advisable, especially if you have kids in tow. Heck, you can always visit the graves of your loved ones any time, not just during All Saints Day.

My entire family was so happy when we received an invitation from our friends over at Nickelodeon and Viacom International Media Network via Strategic Works, Inc. to visit Nickelodeon‘s Takotown at the SM Megamall Megatrade Hall earlier today. Together with around 4,000 fans, Robyn, Bea, wifey and I were treated to an afternoon packed with frightfully-fun and treats, surprises and activities, having the Spook Station’s Terror Tour as the highlight of the fair.

Members of the Press and Media, together with their families with given a 30-minute head-start to explore the entire Nickelodeon’s Takotown: Fright Express activity area before the gates were opened to all guests and visitors.

Truly the perfect trick or treat activity for kids (and the young at heart, like me!), Nickelodeon’s Takotown: Fright Express turned a usually scary Halloween extravaganza into an epic celebration, the Nickelodeon way. The Spook Station‘s unique and thematic areas, the haunted main attraction offered an unforgettable experience to families.

During the Terror Tour, guests were given an exciting and interactive travel experience inside the SM Megamall Megatrade Hall. With four (04) special train stops, participants departed for a journey to the Haunted Mansion, where they saw old, creepy-looking picture frames that had real-life costume characters do the scaring.

At the Cemetery area, passengers weaved through cobwebs and encountered white ladies and ghosts, with skeletons all over the place, while floating coffins swarmed one of the train stops. Filled with spooky trees and a strange abandoned cabin, the Scary Jungle stop left guests screaming and asking for more.

Aside from the Spook Station’s Terror Tour, guests also took part in Nickelodeon-inspired stage games, patterned after some of the brand’s well-loved shows, such as The Loud House, and The Fairly Odd Parents, for an even more memorable Halloween experience.

A Nickelodeon event will not be complete without the special appearance of the network’s famous characters like Bikini Bottom’s Sponge Bob SquarePants and Patrick Star, as well as PAW Patrol‘s Chase and Marshall to the delight of event-goers.

Thank you very much for our friends at Nickelodeon for giving us a good scare in celebrating a thrilling season of spooking via Takotown: Fright Express! Until next Halloween.
