Pinoy Friendster fans, rejoice! Your favorite social networking site has a lot of new stuff to unveil on Friday, 04 Dec 2009 around noon time (MNL time). In a briefing conducted by Friendster Vice-President Philippines & Global Head of Brand Experience, Ben Dunn last Tuesday night at the National Sports Grill, Greenbelt 3, a whole new set of features and changes in the Friendster UI were presented — all under one premise: anything that makes you “smile”. By the way, Friendster changed their logo, too from the blue and white smiley to something funkier, this time in green and white.

Fans of web-based games like Farmville (what?!), etc. will be happy to see the games and applications that will be included in the revamp of Friendter. DLSU fans will surely rejoice, too once they see the default “green-colored theme” of the site. Customizing the user interface will be easier with pre-defined color schemes plus the feature that allows you to change your profiles’ CSS is still available.

  1. […] Here are some of what the bloggers had to say about the new Friendster: “Friendster is looking to the future. Friendster Wallet & Friendster Coins are just the precursor. Friendster hopes to transform itself into a gaming portal. And lastly, these changes come with a new tagline that I think is perfect to describe the many changes of Friendster: Connecting Smiles” – Rochelle Chua, Hearty’s Haven “I’m very happy that Ben Dunn, Vice President Philippines and Global Head of Brand Experience of Friendster is very open to us bloggers and answer a lot of questions regarding about their rebranding and revamp. I felt really close to Friendster because of this and this time they will listen to us users and hear what we really wanted that make us happy and SMILE. It will be the next big hit and for my prediction, people will go back to Friendster, while other late blommers will go to other SNS. But hearing from Ben Dunn the big change, I just saw the future of SNS.” – Azrael Coladilla, Azrael’s Merry Land “Friendster.com is undergoing major changes including a complete redesign of the site and more features that will appeal to its target market – young people.” Mao Hermitanio, Mobile Maui Manila “Fans of web-based games like Farmville (what?!), etc. will be happy to see the games and applications that will be included in the revamp of Friendter.
