In response to the issue of unstable power supply causing frequent disruptions in Filipino households, efforts are being made by companies to make solar technology more accessible to middle-income families.

One of the leading companies driving this initiative is Ginlong (Solis) Technologies, which recently launched its S6 Advanced Power Hybrid Inverter in the Philippines at the Future Energy Show 2023. The company’s goal is to empower more Filipino families by providing them with convenient access to solar power technology.

Solis’ latest technology, the S6 Advanced Power Hybrid Inverter, is designed to cater to the needs of Filipino residential and commercial markets, where power interruptions are common, particularly during high-demand periods like summer. The inverter serves as a fully independent power center, incorporating generator connections and control functions.

“This flexibility avoids over-specifying higher capacity inverters, PV arrays, generators, and batteries than necessarily required, with considerable CAPEX and OPEX savings over our competition. Users can be confident of a seamless supply during grid interruptions, even for the most sensitive electronic equipment,” according to James Frank, Solis Country Manager.

Equipped with enhanced connectivity and control capabilities, the S6 Advanced Power Hybrid Inverter can easily integrate with generators through multiple input methods and automatic on/off control. It also features an automatic UPS switch, enabling households and businesses to manage power outages effectively.

The product offers five operating modes. In the work mode, the inverter functions in energy storage mode, utilizing available PV power to support home loads. The self-use mode allows excess PV power to be stored in the battery, while the feed-in-priority mode exports surplus PV power after fulfilling home load requirements. The off-grid mode enables the system to operate independently when not connected to the grid, and the backup mode can be used during self-use or feed-in-priority mode.

Installing the S6 Advanced Power Hybrid Inverter with a solar PV system can help residential homes save on electricity costs as prices continue to rise. Additionally, the inverter can be easily controlled via smartphones using Bluetooth or WiFi connectivity, providing convenience for Filipino households based on their specific needs.

This hybrid inverter supports up to six parallel connections, with a maximum total load of 48 kilowatts (kW) and a 10-second 200% surge backup overload capability. It is compatible with both lead-acid and lithium batteries and includes multiple protection features, ensuring flexibility and safety.

“Our focus is to help middle-class Filipinos gain access to renewable energy technology. By introducing the S6 Advanced Power Hybrid Inverter, we are enabling households to have a reliable and uninterrupted power supply, ultimately improving their quality of life,” said John Karlo de Guzman, Solis After-sales Support Engineer.

Established in 2005 and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (300763. SZ), Ginlong (Solis) Technologies is a prominent and experienced global solar inverter manufacturer. The company offers cost-effective solutions for homes, businesses, and large-scale power plants, delivering value at every stage of the solar supply chain. It caters to homeowners, businesses, electricity producers, and renewable energy investors worldwide. With a global supply chain, robust R&D, and manufacturing capabilities, Ginlong optimizes Solis inverters for each regional market, supported by a team of local experts. The company aims to collaborate with stakeholders to accelerate the world’s transition towards a more sustainable future.
