The altar of the Sagrada Familia Church at Araneta City has been blessed by no less than His Eminence Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle earlier today. Members of the Araneta family, Araneta Group executives, tenants of Araneta City malls, and other invited guests attended the celebration of the Holy Mass marking the readiness of the church to open to the public.
Located at the topmost level of the New Gateway Mall 2, the church can accommodate up to 1,000 mass-goers and has The Oculus in New York City as its mitre-shaped, all-white design inspiration. The place of worship has a high ceiling and features a prominent hanging cross created by sculptor Wilfredo Layug. The fully air-conditioned, Sagrada Familia Church will provide a welcome spiritual retreat for people from all walks of life.
Cardinal Tagle’s visit coincides with The Word Exposed’s (TV show) benefit dinner, which was scheduled also today at the Novotel Manila Araneta City. The celebration of the Holy Eucharist was presided over by the Filipino cardinal, alongside Fr. Ariston Sison, Jr., Fr. Ronaldo Santos, Fr. Antonio Labiao, Jr., and Fr. Carmelo Caluag.
The Sagrada Familia Church at the New Gateway Mall 2 will soon be open to the general public.
