Singapore’s iconic cable car system has leaped into the future with the introduction of SkyOrb Cabins, marking a significant milestone in cable car innovation worldwide. Mount Faber Leisure Group proudly unveiled the cutting-edge SkyOrb Cabins on the Singapore Cable Car – Mount Faber Line, as part of the grand celebrations for the Singapore Cable Car’s 50th anniversary.

The launch event, held at the picturesque Mount Faber Peak, was graced by esteemed personalities including Bob Tan, Chairman of Sentosa Development Corporation; Thien Kwee Eng, Chief Executive Officer of Sentosa Development Corporation; Michael Syn, Chairman of Mount Faber Leisure Group; and Buhdy Bok, Managing Director of Mount Faber Leisure Group.

“Each SkyOrb cabin, a gleaming chrome orb soaring through the sky, embodies modern design. These cabins offer guests a one-of-a-kind experience, taking them on a discovery between Mount Faber Peak and Sentosa, unveiling breathtaking views along the way,” according to Mr. Bok.

Distinctively crafted for the Singapore Cable Car, the SkyOrb Cabin stands as the world’s first chrome-finished spherical cable car cabin, setting a new standard in cable car design. Departing from the conventional, the spherical aesthetics of the SkyOrb Cabins offer passengers a futuristic and captivating visual experience, elevating their journey to new heights.

Equipped with glass-bottomed floors, passengers are treated to a mesmerizing view of the scenery beneath their feet, while the cabin’s panoramic windows provide an unparalleled vista of the skyline. As dusk descends, a mesmerizing ring of lights adorns the cabin windows, bathing the interior in an otherworldly glow, and creating an atmosphere like no other.

Designed with passenger comfort in mind, the SkyOrb Cabins feature double window louvers at the front and triple window louvers at the rear, ensuring optimal ventilation throughout the journey. With only seven SkyOrb Cabins joining the existing fleet, guests are promised an exclusive and unforgettable experience, enriching the skyline of Sentosa.

The collaborative effort between Mount Faber Leisure Group and renowned cable car cabin manufacturer CWA has resulted in the creation of the SkyOrb Cabins, showcasing a blend of innovation and dedication to providing unique experiences for guests. With its headquarters in Olten, Switzerland, CWA has maintained a longstanding partnership with Mount Faber Leisure Group since the inception of the Singapore Cable Car in 1974.

The SkyOrb Cabins are now open for guests to experience, with tickets available for purchase at the Singapore Cable Car Mount Faber and Sentosa Station ticketing counters. Passengers holding Mount Faber Line and Cable Car Sky Pass tickets can upgrade one leg of their round trip to a SkyOrb Cabin experience for S$15 on weekdays and S$20 on weekends and Public Holidays, granting them access to an unparalleled journey through the skies above Singapore.
