Thinking that the school year will start in just a matter of days (some had already started this week), I decided to call for a meeting to all Mozilla Student Reps recruited through me: thus, the Eventbrite signup page states “Mozilla PHL Student Reps Meeting”. Then, I invited some of my fellow ReMo’s (Mozilla Reps) to join the meeting, so that they may share with the Student Reps their experiences in organizing events. There were a total of 21 pax who signed-up for the event. And I am very happy and proud that this is the very first Mozilla event that I had organized with an attendance turnout of 100% (not to mention that the weather was pretty much uncooperative that day)! Student Reps from Letran Calamba joined the meeting.

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL) Two E-Com Center has the most awesome crew in the country. For the second time, they accommodated our request that this area be reserved for the meeting:

MozCoffee CBTL Two E-Com Center 02 JUN 2012

We are now thinking of making CBTL Two E-Com Center, Mall of Asia Complex as the official venue for our MozCoffee’s in Manila.

The meeting started with each of the attendees, be ReMo or Student Reps introducing their selves to the team. Present during the meeting were Student Reps from De La Salle University (Manila), Eulogio “Amang” Rodriguez Institute of Science & Technology (EARIST), Adamson University, and Colegio de San Juan de Letran (Calamba, Laguna).

Topics discussed during the meeting were:

  • Planning events in your campus that may require the presence of Mozilla;
  • What kind of assistance the Mozilla Philippines Community / ReMo’s can give to the Student Reps;
  • Setting-up Firefox Clinics in different campuses and universities.

After the meeting, the ReMo’s together with those who came all the way from Laguna had a dinner at Julie’s Ihaw-Ihaw, SM By The Bay.

Time really flies fast when you are having fun in the company of Mozilla Philippines Community members – some were even almost left by the last trip bus heading south to Laguna province Smile
