Major telecommunications companies Singtel, AIS, Globe, HKT, Optus, Taiwan Mobile, and Telkomsel have joined forces to launch the world’s first cross-border telco rewards program. The alliance, announced today, aims to provide enhanced value to eligible customers when they travel to key locations, including Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Hong Kong, Australia, Taiwan, or Indonesia, where the respective telecom companies are based.

Under the newly unveiled program, travelers will have the opportunity to earn and utilize rewards, as well as claim and redeem exclusive deals for various services such as transportation, dining, merchandise, and more in any of the participating markets. In addition, customers will enjoy the privilege of accessing free customer support from their respective telecom providers via calls or online channels while abroad. The program is set to be gradually rolled out in the second half of 2024, allowing customers to seamlessly access and redeem unique benefits through their individual telco apps during their travels.

“We value our customers’ loyalty and want to enhance their travel experience. With this unique reciprocal rewards program, our customers can access exciting local rewards and offers when they visit any of the markets within the Alliance. For inbound tourists, we’re making it easier for them to get the most value while exploring Singapore, thereby strengthening Singapore’s position as an iconic destination.  We’re starting with our regional partners but plan to expand this program to cover key travel corridors and popular destinations globally so our customers will have an even wider array of opportunities and new experiences to enjoy when they’re abroad,” according to Anna Yip, Chief Executive Officer, Business Development at Singtel.

This cross-border rewards initiative serves as the latest addition to GOMO PH’s suite of travel offerings. GOMO PH, known for providing roaming services in over 160 destinations worldwide, enables customers to select from a range of promotional offers tailored to their travel destination and duration of stay. Moreover, customers can opt to convert local gigabytes to international gigabytes using ‘Mo Creds,’ all conveniently managed through the GOMO PH app. With the introduction of the GOMO Roam feature, the brand is committed to making every trip more enjoyable and convenient for its customers, offering a seamless and hassle-free travel experience.

“As a brand focused on providing unique experiences as our differentiator and having a deeper relationship with our subscribers, we are excited to partner with other leading telcos in the region through this Rewards Alliance to elevate the travel experience of our subscribers well beyond just connectivity. Through this program, we will be able to give cross-border perks, experiences, and exclusive offers to our subscribers when they travel to partner destinations. With this, we can ensure that when yuppies travel with GOMO PH, they are in for an adventure of a lifetime,” said Darius Delgado, Head of Consumer Mobile Business at Globe.
