Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has announced that it has surpassed the 2 million residential subscribers mark as of the end of September 2023. The company’s strategic efforts to diversify its product portfolio and cater to customers from various income groups have yielded remarkable results, with both its prepaid and postpaid segments experiencing substantial growth.

“We are proud to mark this milestone in our mission to leave no one behind as we empower Filipinos with world-class fiber connectivity. This is a result of our effort to expand growth opportunities through providing more affordable connectivity solutions. Converge is positioned to maintain this growth momentum as we bolster our penetration into the different segments of the market,” according to Dennis Anthony Uy, Converge CEO and Co-Founder.

Converge’s expansion into the mass market has been a pivotal move, marked by the introduction of a prepaid fiber internet product and an affordable postpaid plan. One of the standout offerings is Converge’s groundbreaking prepaid product, known as “Surf2Sawa” (S2S), which has proven to be highly appealing to budget-conscious customers. Since its launch, S2S has seen an impressive 77% growth, amassing over 25,000 net additions during the second quarter of this year, compared to the previous quarter.

Simultaneously, the company’s postpaid customer base has continued to exhibit steady growth. This trend has been bolstered by the introduction of the low-cost postpaid plan, “BIDA Fiber,” which complements Converge’s core product, “FiberX.” FiberX starts at PHP1,500 per month and boasts a speed of 200 Mbps, while BIDA Fiber, priced at P888 per month, offers a speed of 35 Mbps and the ability to connect up to six devices. All three products — FiberX, BIDA, and S2S — include unlimited data consumption, enhancing their attractiveness to a wide range of subscribers.

As of the conclusion of the first half of 2023, Converge boasted a residential subscriber base of 1.97 million, comprising 1.92 million postpaid customers and over 54,000 prepaid subscribers. Impressively, the company added more than 92,000 net subscribers during the January to June period.

Internal data reveals that August has emerged as Converge’s most successful month in terms of sales, aligning with analysts’ predictions that sales would witness an uptick in the second half of the year.

“We are encouraged by the continued growth of our residential subscriber base in the first half of 2023. This is further proof of the superiority of our broadband product, coupled with our people’s laser-focus on meeting customers’ needs,” said Jesus Romero, Converge Chief Operations Officer.

Converge’s prominence in the market is further emphasized by its operation of the largest fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network in the country, boasting more than 7.8 million ports nationwide as of the first half of the year. Additionally, the company maintains one of the Philippines’ most extensive cable systems, featuring a 670,000-kilometer fiber backbone.

By the end of June 2023, Converge’s network infrastructure had reached over 16.6 million Filipino homes, covering an impressive 62.3% of households across the nation. The company’s commitment to expanding its reach and offering affordable, high-quality broadband services has clearly paid off, making it a formidable force in the telecommunications industry.
