PUBG MOBILE Philippines, in collaboration with TECNO, marked the beginning of the eSports calendar for 2024 with the highly anticipated PUBG MOBILE National Championships (PMNC). Hosted at the iconic SM Mall of Asia, the tournament saw fierce competition between elite squads from the Philippines, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Singapore.
In an intense battle of strategy and skill, it was the Filipino team, Harame Bro, that emerged as the champions of PMNC last 07 January 2024. The thrilling event drew thousands of PUBG MOBILE enthusiasts, turning the SM Mall of Asia into a battleground for some of the region’s top gaming talent.
Harame Bro secured their victory, claiming a significant portion of the PHP500,000 cash prize pool, along with the prestigious TECNO Spark 20 Pro, equipped with a 108MP lite-flagship camera, part of the latest SPARK 20 series. TECNO, a globally recognized smartphone brand, played a pivotal role in supporting the event and making the entire competition possible.
The podium also featured remarkable performances from other top teams, including 214 Akira, Exquisite Esports, Dread Esports, and ELV8 Esports. Joining them were the highly esteemed Playbook Esports (PBE) and Enigma, earning the right to represent the Philippines in international PUBG MOBILE Esports competitions scheduled for the rest of the year.
“We are thrilled to have our first-ever offline event for the PUBG Mobile National Championships. Since 2022, only one team has made it to the regional pro tournaments. Now, there are seven. Knowing our teams, we look forward to the matches against our Southeast Asian neighbors and for our Filipino representatives to impress the region with their skills and strategy,” according to Franchesca Fajardo, eSports Manager at PUBG MOBILE Philippines.
These seven exceptional teams showcased their prowess after navigating through a challenging series of tournaments that attracted over 200 teams from across the country. The competition not only aimed to crown the best PUBG MOBILE team in the Philippines but also served as a platform for these talented gamers to represent the nation on the global stage.
PUBG MOBILE has transcended traditional gaming boundaries, evolving into a globally acclaimed mobile esports phenomenon. The integration of esports into mainstream culture has opened doors for aspiring Filipino gamers, allowing them to dream of turning professional in the rapidly expanding world of competitive gaming.
