SEEK, the renowned employment marketplace, has successfully orchestrated the merger of its Asia Pacific (APAC) platforms — SEEK, Jobstreet, and Jobsdb. Operating under a single, technologically advanced platform driven by SEEK’s cutting-edge AI, this transformative integration preserves the individual identities of these platforms while connecting millions of talents and employers across the APAC region.

This unification, a decade in the making since SEEK’s acquisition of Jobstreet and Jobsdb, signifies a monumental step forward in reshaping the landscape of job and talent search. The investment of an estimated AUD$180 million over three years culminated in a unified platform poised to revolutionize the employment market across the region.

Philippines at the Forefront: Jobstreet’s Role in Alleviating Unemployment

In the backdrop of the unification, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported a 3.6% unemployment rate in November 2023. SEEK’s concerted efforts to reinforce Jobstreet align with its mission to provide a seamless and state-of-the-art experience for both employers and Filipino talent, aiming to address the challenges posed by the current job market.

“We are excited to facilitate more tailored job matches between employers and talent, powered by SEEK’s AI technology to continue providing jobs to every Filipino. The new Jobstreet by SEEK platform can now seamlessly match them based on specific skills, job roles, and career aspirations is crucial in the Philippines’ highly dynamic and evolving employment landscape,” according to Dan Majarocon, Managing Director, Philippines, Jobstreet by SEEK.

The integrated platform introduces AI-driven enhancements to Jobstreet and Jobsdb in Asia, fundamentally altering the dynamics of employment engagement. For employers, the platform employs AI models to evaluate talent suitability, offering personalized recommendations based on a comprehensive analysis of data from resumes, job ad descriptions, and past employer behaviors.

Job seekers, on the other hand, benefit from an improved job-hunting experience. The platform now effortlessly matches them to jobs recommended by AI, aligning with their qualifications, experience, and skills. With a broader dataset spanning APAC, SEEK’s AI algorithms ensure more precise and relevant connections between employers and talent, streamlining the hiring process.

Pace of Innovation: Customer-Centric Advancements

The move towards a unified marketplace empowers SEEK to leverage data-driven insights, conduct extensive product testing, and innovate at an unprecedented pace. This strategic shift is set to not only enhance user experience but also expedite the hiring process on Jobstreet and Jobsdb platforms.

In a bid to further innovate, SEEK has introduced a groundbreaking natural language search feature on the Jobstreet platform in the Philippines. This feature, powered by a large language model, enables users to submit job queries using simple phrases or sentences, eliminating the reliance on traditional keyword searches. The introduction of this feature is part of SEEK’s ongoing commitment to customer-centric innovation.

Scheduled to be rolled out across the rest of SEEK’s APAC markets in 2024, this natural language search feature promises to redefine the job search experience for millions of users. For those eager to experience the enhanced Jobstreet by SEEK platform, it is accessible at jobstreet.com.ph, or through the downloadable app on Google Play Store or the App Store.
