Francisco “Paco” Magsaysay, renowned for spearheading Carmen’s Best Premium Ice Cream, has pivoted towards the tech realm, assuming the role of President and CEO at Asian Vision.

Originally established as a cable television company in 1973, Asian Vision has emerged as a prominent Internet Service Provider (ISP) across the provinces of Zambales, Batangas, and Quezon. Transforming its business model, the company now provides a comprehensive ecosystem, encompassing internet cable and connectivity, along with managed services, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, professional IT services, and structured cabling.

“We have local presence. We have people on the ground who provide good customer service. A lot of our staff are locals in the areas we currently service, so they know what’s going on there. You need to give your customers the attention and importance they deserve, and that’s what Asian Vision provides,” according to Paco.

Leveraging his entrepreneurial background, Paco aims to empower small and medium enterprises (SMEs), particularly those outside Metro Manila, with cutting-edge technologies. He emphasizes the importance of catering to local businesses, citing his own experiences as Mr. Ice Cream and understanding the challenges faced by fellow entrepreneurs.

Paco highlights the struggle of dedicated market businesses lacking the resources for telco-grade equipment and larger companies hesitant to adopt transformative technologies such as cloud storage. To bridge this gap, Asian Vision collaborates with industry leaders like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Cisco, Google, GreatnessLab, Huawei, Kyrios, Packetworx, Sprout Solutions, and more.

“Our competitors are focused on the big corporations, so that creates a void for the small and medium-scale enterprises. That is the market that we want to serve, particularly the businesses engaged in tourism, healthcare, hotels and resorts, and banking and finance,” he added.

Founded by Paco’s father, former Senator Ramon “Jun” Magsaysay, Jr., who is the son of the beloved former Philippine President Ramon Magsaysay, Asian Vision boasts a rich legacy of credibility and integrity.

Despite not venturing into politics, Paco has demonstrated his leadership capabilities in the private sector. Beyond his triumphs in the artisanal ice cream business, he has been honored with various industry accolades, including the 2018 Agora Award for Excellence in Entrepreneurship, the 2022 Emerging Entrepreneur Award from the Italian Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, the 2022 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year in the Small Business Category, and the 2022 Mansmith Award for Enterprise Innovator for Product Innovation.

Recently recognized as one of the Philippines’ Top 30 Leaders on LinkedIn, Paco was also bestowed with the Leadership Catalyst – Top Business Leader for Innovation Award, further solidifying his position as a dynamic force in both the culinary and tech sectors.
