Aimed at revolutionizing the student experience on campus, Mapúa University, currently celebrating its centennial year, has joined forces with edtech provider Anthology. With the university’s commitment to adaptability and innovation, this collaboration aims to address the challenges of a dynamic learning environment and elevate student life through Anthology Engage.

“We wanted to foster a sense of community and belonging within the university. Blending academic and co-curricular activities is a big challenge, and we need a unified platform that can enhance communication and collaboration across the university,” according to Dodjie Maestrecampo, Ph.D., President and CEO of Mapua University, who also leads the initiative, recognizing the need to enhance institutional activities and organizations while ensuring students remain actively involved in campus events.

One of the major hurdles facing universities is the overwhelming amount of administrative paperwork required for smooth operations. Academic records, coupled with documentation of numerous school activities, create a substantial workload for administrators. Anthology Engage steps in as a comprehensive platform, merging technology with personalization to create an interactive interface that transforms the student experience.

Beyond administrative streamlining, Anthology Engage introduces a feature that assesses student participation in various activities and their progress toward set goals. Recognizing the abundance of student organizations and events throughout the academic year, the platform aims to prevent information overload by centralizing communication, event invitations, attendance tracking, and feedback collection.

The platform also enhances the management of student organizations by categorizing events based on their nature and objectives. Engineering students, for instance, can effortlessly receive notifications related to their field of study, while also exploring events beyond their course with ease.

Mapúa University is not stopping at transforming the on-campus experience. The institution is actively pursuing the development of a smart campus, incorporating Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to modernize the educational environment and enhance overall campus life. The introduction of new AI features in their learning management system, Blackboard Learn by Anthology, further supports efficiency across the campus, reflecting the university’s commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements in education.
