Aimed at creating a universe of Filipino tech talents in the field of blockchain technology, BreederDAO in partnership with StackLeague launches the Genesis Blocks: BreederDAO Hackathon happening on 19 to 21 August 2022 with a cash prize pool of PHP200,000.

The hackathon will feature the best of each competitor’s creativity and talent in solving real-world challenges and driving them to innovate by building applications based on Solidity.

“Hosting events like this are always a joy because it shows you that great ideas abound, Filipino developers just need to be given the chance to show off what they’re able to do,” according to Renz Chong, CEO of BreederDAO.

BreederDAO specializes in breeding and crafting NFT characters and game items to be used in play-to-earn games. The company’s founders are young talented individuals that were featured in Forbes’ 2022 30 under 30 list.

“We are proud to help mold the next generation of developers, whose creativity needs to be nurtured as we usher in the next phase in the metaverse’s expansion,” said Nico Odulio, Chief Technology Officer of BreederDAO.

Aspiring participants can enter as an individual or of a team of up to four members for this event. Qualified participants must be of legal age and must be knowledgeable of Solidity, React, Python, and Java.

Mentoring will be facilitated by Paul Cas of BreederDAO and Marco Romero of UBX Philippines. The competitors will be judged by Nico Odulio, Marco Romero, and Jake San Juan of Tokemak.

The top 3 winners will receive the following cash prizes: PHP100,000 for 1st Place; PHP50,000 for 2nd Place; and PHP30,000 for 3rd Place.

There will also be special category winners who will each receive PHP10,000 for the following criteria: Most Optimal Code and Best Presenter. On top of cash prizes, winners will get a pre-qualification status for employment with BreederDAO.
