GCash, the leading fintech company in the Philippines, has teamed up with PasaJob to launch GJobs, a groundbreaking job-matching platform integrated into the fintech superapp. This innovative solution, unveiled last 25 September 2023, was jointly developed by the two partners and promises to revolutionize the hiring process.

GJobs, powered by PasaJob, boasts a proprietary long-chain referral system, setting it apart from traditional job-matching platforms. This novel approach aims to streamline and expedite the hiring process, benefiting both employers and job seekers alike.

“The launch of GJobs is an extension of our ‘Finance for All’ vision. Not only are we helping Filipinos find their dream jobs, we are also helping people earn by referring their friends or family to these job vacancies. GJobs not only helps job seekers and employers connect, we are making the entire hiring process rewarding even for the referrers,” according to Robert Gonzales, GCash Chief People Officer.

One of the persistent challenges faced by employers is finding high-quality candidates. A 2017 study by Glassdoor highlighted this issue, demonstrating that the caliber of candidates is a top concern for many companies. Conversely, job seekers often struggle to find positions that align with their training, skills, and knowledge. GJobs, with its extensive network of referrers, offers a solution by facilitating the flow of job-related information through social networks.

The unique feature of GJobs is its transparent referral fee system. Each job posting on the platform displays a referral fee that is visible to all users. This transparent incentive structure encourages individuals to connect with their family, friends, and colleagues and share job opportunities. When a referral leads to a successful hire, the referrer(s) receives the referral fee as a reward.

“We are proud to work with GCash to make GJobs powered by PasaJob available on their superapp. With GJobs now, quite literally in the palm of millions of Filipinos, we know that we can connect job seekers to their dream jobs, build bridges for employers and the best talent in their respective industries, and reward referrers who help employers find the right candidates for them,” said Kristen Mariano, PasaJob Co-Founder and CEO.

The partnership between GCash and PasaJob carries significant weight, as it leverages the expertise of both companies to directly benefit GCash’s vast customer base. This collaboration aims to address the persistent challenges of finding suitable job candidates and enhancing the overall job-seeking experience.

The effectiveness of using referrers in the hiring process has been well-documented in various studies conducted worldwide. Reports indicate that 88% of employers prefer to recruit through referrals, with referred employees demonstrating greater longevity within their companies. In fact, they tend to stay 70% longer than employees hired through other methods. The referral system significantly shortens the hiring timeline, reducing it by up to 29 days compared to the average 42-day hiring process.

“Referring friends or family to a job is a very Filipino trait. It’s something inherent to us. So, what we’re doing with GJobs is taking this insight and creating an intuitive job board that is propelled by referrals. We know that this solution will redefine job hunting and job posting, so we hope that people sign up for this service within the GCash superapp,” Gonzales added.

GJobs, with its revolutionary approach to job matching and referral rewards, holds the potential to reshape the employment landscape in the Philippines. By harnessing the power of referrals, this platform aims to make the job-seeking and hiring processes more efficient and rewarding for everyone involved.
