Leading online food and grocery platform foodpanda has successfully concluded a thrilling series of activities as part of its ongoing partnership with the National Basketball Association (NBA).

As the NBA’s first Official Online Food Delivery Platform Partner in the Philippines, foodpanda co-hosted a range of NBA tentpole events and rolled out promotions that gave foodpanda app users the chance to win authentic NBA prizes and exclusive perks.

The collaboration between the premier sports league and the leading food and grocery platform was officially launched back in February of this year, with the goal of bringing convenience and sports entertainment just a few taps away for fans.

“This partnership truly makes for a dream team, and we are happy to let people experience the engaging activities we have prepared. As Filipinos are known to be huge basketball fans, we want to leverage on the fiery passion local consumers have for the sport and position foodpanda as the preferred online food delivery choice in the country,” according to Patricia Jacinto, foodpanda Philippines Growth and Marketing Director. The partnership is one of the concrete examples of how one can “Live Like a Panda,” the company’s overarching brand philosophy, which encourages people to free up their time and energy to pursue what matters to them.

One of the major initiatives was the Ball Like a Panda raffle, launched by foodpanda in March 2023. Users of the app were treated to an array of food, grocery, and pick-up services while also gaining entries for a chance to win an NBA League Pass and the opportunity to witness an NBA Playoffs game live.

JP Alejandro was the lucky winner who won an all-expense paid trip to the USA and fulfilled his dream of watching a live NBA game last May. “I was super excited when I learned I won because I’ve always been a huge fan of the NBA. Good thing, I’m also an avid foodpanda user so it’s a win-win for me. Thank you so much to foodpanda. This is a dream come true,” said JP.

To further celebrate their partnership, foodpanda hosted a lively NBA Finals Watch Party as part of the “Live Like a Panda” campaign. This event, held on 10-11 June 2023, at Eastwood Central Plaza, brought together basketball enthusiasts and foodies alike to enjoy the NBA Finals Game 4 between the Denver Nuggets and the Miami Heat.

At the watch party, attendees were treated to a delightful experience, relishing free meals, popcorn, pink cocktails, and receiving customizable NBA co-branded shirts for pandapro subscribers and assorted Pau-Pau merchandise.

Celebrities and influencers, including JV De Vera, Prince Carlos, Gab Lagman, and Ayn Bernos, graced the event and participated in showcasing what it truly means to “Live like a panda.”

In yet another exciting move, foodpanda introduced its first-ever 3-on-3 basketball tournament, featuring special participation from celebrities such as Rayver Cruz, Gab Lagman, Eric “Eruption” Tai, Mikee Reyes, Wilbert Ross, Juancho Triviño, Prince Carlos, and Prince Clemente, as well as the talented Ka-pandas, comprising John Rene Alcanzo, Leonnel Clint Baldo, Jeffrey Diaz, and Jason Carl Baldo.

The Pau-tastic match witnessed intense competition between four teams engaged in a series of captivating games. Meanwhile, registered guests enjoyed thrilling booths, delectable food, and refreshing beverages throughout the event. Adding to the fun, the audience participated in side activities to earn exclusive NBA x foodpanda merchandise.

With these captivating basketball-themed events, the partnership between NBA and foodpanda has brought a plethora of excitement, combining great food with non-stop on-court action and much more. Fans can eagerly look forward to future initiatives and surprises as foodpanda and NBA continue to cater to the passion of Pinoy food lovers and basketball enthusiasts alike. Stay tuned for more exciting developments.
