As the digital landscape evolves, so do the services we rely on. On 26 February 2024 at 2359H, SKY Cable will sign off, marking the end of an era in Filipino television. This transition comes as a result of the anticipated closing conditions of the PLDT-SKY acquisition deal, paving the way for SKY to pivot towards becoming a dedicated Internet Service Provider (ISP).

For loyal SKY Fiber Internet subscribers, fear not, as your internet experience remains unchanged. You’ll continue to enjoy the same lightning-fast service at the same monthly rates, ensuring seamless connectivity for your online activities.

However, for SKY Cable CATV subscribers, changes are on the horizon. SKY has compiled a comprehensive list of alternative providers available in your area, accessible online via mysky.com.ph/paytvproviders. This resource will aid in your transition to a new television service provider, ensuring uninterrupted access to your favorite shows and channels.

For SKY Bundle (CATV + Internet) subscribers, your subscription will be converted into a standalone SKY Fiber plan (Internet only), as bundled options will no longer be available. You have the opportunity to select your preferred SKY Fiber plan via fiberoptin.mysky.com.ph until 25 February 2024, facilitating a smooth transition to the new service structure.

As a gesture of appreciation for your years of patronage, SKY is offering a selection of SKYcable channels to enjoy at no additional cost until 26 February 2024. It’s a chance to savor some final moments with your favorite programming before the sign-off.

So, What Comes Next?

Service Discontinuation: Effective 27 February 2024, the SKY Cable pay TV service will no longer be available. Subscribers will cease to be charged for the service, along with any related discounts and add-ons, starting 26 January 2024.

Final Billing: Your last bill will be issued on or before 01 March 2024. You’ll only need to settle the total amount due as indicated, providing closure to your SKYcable subscription.

No Returns Required: There’s no need to return any issued SKY Digibox or other cable accessories to SKY. You can simply hold onto them or dispose of them responsibly.

In addition, for those who have been enjoying HBO GO through SKY, please note the following changes:

  • Starting 26 January 2024, HBO GO activation and subscription services through SKY will cease.
  • You’ll no longer be billed for HBO GO starting 26 January 2024, but your viewing access will continue until 26 February 2024.
  • To continue enjoying HBO GO beyond this date, you can sign up at hbogoasia.ph or through the app stores for Android or iOS. Subscription options include in-app purchases or credit/debit card payments.

Change can be challenging, but it also brings new opportunities. As SKY bids farewell to its cable television service, it welcomes a new chapter focused on providing top-notch internet connectivity to its customers. Embrace the transition, explore your options, and look forward to the possibilities that lie ahead in the digital world.

22 FEB 2024 UPDATE: According to statements issued by both ABS-CBN and PLDT on the morning of Thursday, 22 February 2024, they decided not to proceed with the Sky Cable transaction. The reason for the deal termination was not given. Sky Cable has notified its customers that the planned termination of their CATV services is not pushing through.
