Eastern Communications continues to uphold its commitment to delivering cutting-edge technology and personalized customer experiences. In order to support organizations in their pursuit of efficient and secure digitalization, Eastern Communications has enhanced its range of cybersecurity and cloud services.

Drawing from extensive research, the telecoms company has identified several industries, including the supply chain, finance, tourism, and public sector, that require cybersecurity and cloud solutions to address their specific challenges. To assist these industries in their digital transformation journey, Eastern has developed key business essentials known as the “Evolve Every Day Essentials,” which consist of Eastern Cloud, Eastern SASE, and Eastern cybersecurity services.

For instance, the public sector’s implementation of eGov applications necessitates robust digital security measures to protect personal information and online transactions. Streamlining day-to-day business operations through digitalization is crucial for enhancing public services. A strong digital infrastructure serves as the foundation for building a digital nation.

Considering the flourishing tourism industry, Eastern Communications recommends that related businesses embrace digital evolution and provide seamless touchpoints to access real-time information and services. This approach enhances the productivity of the tourism sector.

“We believe that the MSMEs also deserve to be protected. That’s why we’ve worked on democratizing our services, making them accessible to all. By leveraging cloud technology, we were able to make cybersecurity tools more affordable and we can now offer it as a service. Our goal is to empower small and medium enterprises across the Philippines, enabling them to benefit from this technology as well. Regarding the needs of the specific market segments we have identified, the three hero products—Eastern Cloud, SASE, and Eastern Cybersecurity—are the main drivers that help us serve customers effectively and help them achieve more and evolve more every day,” according to Edsel Paglinawan, Eastern Communications Vice President & Head of Product and Innovation Division.

The supply chain, finance, and IT BPO sectors are advised to upgrade their operations by adopting automation, digital collaboration tools, and advanced cybersecurity systems. The company acknowledges the significance of cost-effective and tailored cybersecurity solutions for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), as reports indicate that a considerable percentage of cyberattacks (70%-75%) specifically target SMEs.

Eastern Communications is actively advancing digitalization efforts through strategic partnerships and innovative solutions. In collaboration with global provider Fortinet, the company introduced the first telco Fortinet MSSP in the Philippines. In addition, Eastern Communications became the pioneering Philippine telco to offer Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), a comprehensive enterprise networking technology that ensures secure connectivity across various resources. Ramon Paglinawan, CEO of Eastern Communications CEO highlighted the importance of utilizing SD-WAN and SASE technologies to overcome connectivity limitations caused by shared internet connections. The company holds the distinction of being the first telecommunications and cloud solutions provider in the country to partner with another cloud provider, enabling the utilization of the same platform and offering a locally hosted geo-redundant cloud platform.
