BTI Payments, the owner and operator of the popular Pay&Go network of payment kiosks, is embarking on a strategic regional expansion to enhance its nationwide coverage and cater to a larger customer base. Currently available in numerous leading malls, supermarkets, pharmacies, and convenience stores, BTI Payments is now focused on expanding its presence in the Visayas and Mindanao regions to further strengthen its network.

To achieve this goal, BTI Payments has initiated plans to establish satellite offices in key urban areas across the country. These offices will enable the company to provide more efficient services, reach a wider audience, and cultivate stronger relationships with key partners in various regions.

In line with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) efforts to promote financial inclusion, BTI Payments is wholeheartedly supporting the PalengQR program. This program advocates for cashless transactions in public markets by encouraging vendors to accept QR payments from customers. The company is actively deploying Pay&Go kiosks in marketplaces, terminals, and other public establishments, serving as cash points for users to top-up their e-wallets. This enables customers to enjoy the convenience of cashless transactions when purchasing goods at the market or paying for public transport fares.

While driving expansion and embracing financial inclusion, BTI Payments has also been involved in an arbitration process with the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc. (PDRCI) to resolve issues stemming from its previous partnership with Manila Express Payments (MEPS).

After a lengthy process involving hearings and careful examination of legal evidence presented by both parties, the PDRCI has reached a final resolution for compliance by both BTI Payments and MEPS. BTI Payments trusted and participated in the arbitration process, accepting the decision as final and binding. However, MEPS, the party that initiated the arbitration, refuses to accept the decision’s finality and is currently appealing through another court.

Undeterred by the legal dispute, BTI Payments remains focused on its expansion plans. The company is determined to forge ahead and devote its time and resources to better serving the public. With its mission of providing financial access to underserved markets, BTI Payments aims to aggressively deploy its services in key venues and implement programs that further support its key partners and customers.

As a testament to its commitment to excellence, BTI Payments has been a BSP-certified Operator of Payment Systems (OPS) since 2019 and has been accredited by BancNet as a non-bank ATM deployer since 2016. The company is a subsidiary of Banktech, a renowned Australian ATM and payment technology enterprise with over three decades of experience. Banktech currently owns and operates more than 16,000 payment systems across Australia, India, and Southeast Asia.

The expansion efforts and commitment to innovation of BTI Payments are poised to have a significant impact on financial inclusion and convenience for customers across the Philippines. With its widening network and focus on cashless transactions, the company is well-positioned to shape the future of payment systems in the country.
