In a bid to strengthen financial literacy among families transitioning out of the government’s Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), Cebuana Lhuillier has partnered with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the Area 112 DSWD Caravan in Tondo, Manila. The initiative aims to equip former 4Ps beneficiaries with the necessary financial knowledge and tools to sustain economic stability beyond government aid.
Bridging the Financial Gap

Graduates of the 4Ps program often struggle with maintaining financial security once external assistance ends. Acknowledging this challenge, Cebuana Lhuillier, the country’s leading microfinance institution, introduced tailored financial solutions designed to empower these families.
The event, held in Barangays 208 and 210, featured interactive financial literacy workshops, where participants learned about essential financial management strategies. Cebuana Lhuillier underscored the importance of micro-savings, encouraging families to develop consistent saving habits to prepare for future expenses and emergencies. The company also introduced its Protect All Insurance, an affordable financial protection plan designed to provide security for low-income households.
In addition to savings and insurance, the event highlighted Kanegosyo Center, a program aimed at supporting small entrepreneurs by providing guidance and resources for launching and sustaining their businesses. Understanding the role of mobility in economic opportunities, Cebuana Lhuillier also introduced motorcycle loans, offering affordable financing options for individuals needing transportation for work or business. The company further addressed the needs of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families through specialized OFW loan programs, ensuring they have access to financial assistance that can help them establish long-term stability.
Empowering Financial Independence

Jean Henri Lhuillier, President and CEO of Cebuana Lhuillier, emphasized the company’s commitment to fostering financial empowerment, “Financial literacy is the foundation of sustainable progress. At Cebuana Lhuillier, we believe that equipping individuals and families with the knowledge and tools to manage their finances is key to helping them achieve financial security and independence.”
The DSWD Caravan reinforced the importance of long-term financial resilience, ensuring that former 4Ps beneficiaries are well-equipped to handle their finances independently. Cebuana Lhuillier’s commitment to financial inclusion continues to bridge gaps in financial education and support, allowing more Filipinos to build a secure and self-sufficient future.
