Canon Marketing (Philippines), Inc. has officially kicked off its 2025 Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives with a coastal cleanup at Baseco Beach in Tondo, Manila. The environmentally focused activity was conducted in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and the Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST), highlighting Canon’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and community engagement.

Held recently, the coastal cleanup gathered around 50 Canon employee volunteers who joined forces to collect plastic waste and other debris along the shoreline. The event not only helped rehabilitate the coastal environment but also aimed to raise public awareness about ocean conservation and responsible waste disposal.
“This coastal cleanup reflects our collective responsibility to protect the environment and make a meaningful difference through purposeful action. At Canon, we believe that building a better future begins with the steps we take today. This initiative marks just the beginning of our CSR journey for 2025. With the dedication of our employees and our valued partners at ASSIST, we aim to inspire more individuals and organizations to embrace environmental stewardship,” according to Anuj Aggarwal, President and CEO of Canon Marketing (Philippines), Inc.

The activity went beyond simple waste collection. It also served as an educational platform, with representatives from DENR and ASSIST conducting on-site learning sessions. Volunteers were briefed on topics such as proper waste segregation, recycling, and the broader environmental issues faced by coastal communities throughout the Philippines.
Canon’s CSR roadmap for 2025 emphasizes sustainability, community participation, and impactful change. Through initiatives like this coastal cleanup, the company aims to empower its employees and partners to lead by example in caring for the planet.
