Was it right for this government to move the Independence Day holiday from 12 June 2008 to the nearest Monday, which was yesterday 09 June 2008?

For me, IT IS NOT! It is WRONG! The essence of celebrating the Independence Day is gone. People went to different places, NOT ASSOCIATED with the celebration of the Independence Day. Now what? Come Thursday, there will be lesser people celebrating the Independence Day since IT IS NO LONGER A HOLIDAY.

What’s next? Christmas Day to be moved on the nearest Monday?

  1. Well, what makes us think that if we keep the holiday on the 12th Filipinos would be celebrating it?…They would probably just go to malls and other places instead of even visiting the Grandstand…..
