pnp

NCRPO Chief Superintendent Alan Purisima said, “We want to make sure that the public can reach us anytime of the day and night, and that they can expect a quick police response from all units of the NCRPO within 24 hours.” Purisima warned that police officers who fail to respond to the complaints and reports of a crime would be charged administratively for neglect of duty, which is punishable with suspension and forfeiture of pay.

He asked the public to send in their complete name and address before their complaints, which would be processed at the Regional Tactical Operations and Intelligence Center (RTOIC) at Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City.

All complaints, Purisima said, would be forwarded to the police office concerned in the metropolis.

The Philippines Adopts PH & PHL as Initials

So, it is bye-bye RP now as the Republic of the Philippines officially adopts the PH & PHL initials. The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) issued Department Order No. 16-10 last 20 Oct 2010 directing all of the 67 embassies, 23 consulates, and 04 permanent missions to adopt the initials PH or PHL. According to the Department Order, “this is in line with the Philippine membership with the ISO, as well as to avoid the ambiguity and confusion with the use of the initials ‘RP’. The long standing usage of the initials ‘RP’ is not in accordance with ISO codes, leading to ambiguous initials that can also refer to other countries, the DFA noted.”

Cebu Pacific’s Dancing Flight Attendants

After making every Juan (that’s every John; a pun of “everyone” for our foreign readers) fly, Cebu Pacific Air (5J) of the Philippines just made history by bringing the world’s first dancing flight attendants (just Google the search terms “dancing flight attendants” and almost all results will lead to this video):

To the Marketing & Flight Crew guys & gals of Cebu Pacific Air: you are all insanely genius(es)!

Whatta move to boost the tourism industry here in the Philippines.

Carlos Celdran Lands in Jail!

Tour Guide Carlos Celdran lands in jail (and perhaps will spend the night behind bars) for staging a protest (read as “disrupting an ecumenical service”) inside the Manila Cathedral this afternoon.

He was then arrested, and later on brought to the Manila Police District Station 5. We all know that he is a very vocal Reproductive Health advocate. I thought he was an educated person. But disrespecting a place of worship (if not the opinion of other people) is a grave sin.

My dad even commented that Mr. Celdran should had been brought to the National Center for Mental Health in Mandaluyong City instead of the MPD Station 5. As of this posting, the CBCP files charges against him for violation of Article 133 of the Revised Penal Code (Offending Religious Feelings; punishable by prision correccional).

The END, simply DOES NOT justify the MEANS. Kalaboso ka tuloy :P

San Miguel Corp. Buys GSIS Stake in MERALCO

It is now official! San Miguel Corp. (SMC) will buy the 27% stake of the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) at MERALCO, price of which is PHP90.00 per share — payable in three years. This was confirmed based on Disclosure 7393-2008 (October 27, 2008) received by the Philippine Stock Exchange Commission.

Why did Winston Garcia and his cohorts, este co-directors suddenly changed their minds and sold their share to SMC? Does this verify the rumor that the GSIS is really bankrupt? Nagtatanong lang po!

PS: What happened to our complaint two years ago? Cover up! Cover up!
