In conjunction with Shopee’s 11.11 – 12.12 Big Christmas Sale, the leading eCommerce platform in Southeast Asia and Taiwan launches the Shopee Bayanihan: Pamaskong Pambata — a charity drive to raise awareness and donations for underprivileged children in the Philippines. As part of 11.11 Big Charity, Shopee envisions making eCommerce for everyone and to ensure that it provides opportunities for the country’s future generation. All proceeds of the program will go to chosen local beneficiaries.

Shopee Bayanihan: Pamaskong Pambata will support 11 local foundations geared towards empowering impoverished children:

  • Fundlife International, Inc.
  • GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc.
  • Kythe Foundation, Inc.
  • Mano Amiga Philippines
  • PGH Medical Foundation, Inc.
  • Project Pearls, Inc.
  • Project Smile Philippines
  • Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Philippines, Inc.
  • Save the Children Philippines
  • World Vision Philippines
  • Young Focus for Education and Development Foundation, Inc.

According to Martin Yu, Associate Director at Shopee Philippines, “Children are crucial to the future of the Philippines’ innovation and economy. As part of our vision to make e-commerce for everyone, we want to ensure that the future generation has the opportunity to contribute to and succeed in the digital economy. We’re excited to give back to and support our communities alongside our partners, users, and brand ambassadors as we create a positive impact on children in need. We look forward to a fruitful Shopee Bayanihan: Pamaskong Pambata and hope we can all do our part during this year-end shopping season.”

Shopee will introduce a wide range of in-app initiatives to raise funds and increase awareness for the needs of underprivileged children with Shopee Bayanihan: Pamaskong Pambata. Shopee users can contribute in various ways, including:

  • Donate to 11 partner organizations through the Shopee app: Shopee will create a dedicated in-app space for users to contribute easily to a good cause. Here’s how they can donate until 12 December 2020:
  • Shop for a cause through special co-branded live streams: From 09 November 2020 to 12 December 2020, shoppers can look out for special Shopee Live streams, co-created by Shopee and leading brands to bring users exclusive deals while giving back to those in need. For every purchase made, participating brands will donate proceeds or the same product to selected foundations.
  • Support charity collections, earn vouchers from leading brands: Leading brands will launch exclusive charity collections, available only on Shopee from 09 November 2020 to 12 December 2020. Also, digital partners will offer a wide range of vouchers on sale for charity. All proceeds will go to Shopee’s 11 charity partners.
