I was shocked to see the breaking news banner of GMA7 and CNN tonight saying that the Pope will resign effective end of this month. Personally, I was saddened due to the fact that he has yet to visit our country since he was elected as Pope in 2005 — I haven’t seen him in person, too.

But based on his letter to the College of Cardinals announcing such decision due to “advanced age” seem to be valid, as he is already 85 years of age.

Let us continue praying for the entire Roman Catholic church, and for the College of Cardinals, who will soon be convening as a conclave, effectively electing the successor of St. Peter after Benedict XVI.
