Internet + Computer = Life! (version 3.20 build update 21012012)

Smart Bro Was Down

For the first time in five weeks after installation, my Smart Bro Wireless Internet was down. It was around 2130H last night, when my younger brother was surfing the internet that he complained of a lagging connection.

I checked for the possible problem(s), and found out that their DNS is dying (at that moment). Minutes later, there was not a single ping available: NO INTERNET CONNECTION.

I immediately called their technical support, and I was advised that there was a technical maintenance on-going at the base station (cell site). What?! A technical maintenance without prior advise? I was instructed to monitor if my internet connection will be back in service within 24 hours. Geez, do I really need to monitor that? So, 30 minutes after that conversation, I retired.

At 0800H this morning, I checked my PC, which has the Smart Bro connection, and it is still down. An hour and a half later, my internet connection is up! I only rant that the next time they do conduct a technical maintenance, they should advise their customers first.

Notice to All Equitable-PCI Bankers

Got the information from a local mailing list, I made the screenshots so as everbody will be made aware of this phising scam.

The website looks like it is really the online banking interface of Equitable-PCI Bank:

But, if you will take a closer look at the address:

What happens if you enter your login credentials in this site? Then, it’s like giving the hackers unlimited access to your online bank account.

Don’t tell me that I did not warned you. Always keep safe. Look for the https, not just http mark on your web browser’s address bar.

Microsoft Corp., today announced the first Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) exam for IT and hosting professionals to gain Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist status in configuring and managing Windows Server 2003 Hosted Environments.

The exam, 70-501 TS: Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Hosted Environments, Configuring and Managing, is designed to enable a reliable measurement of technical proficiency and expertise in using Windows Server 2003 to provide hosted services.
