Less than 12 hours after the first test:

Improving!
Less than 24 hours after my Smart Bro was installed, I posted a whooping 282 kbps download speed and 289 kbps upload speed. It has been more than 48 hours already, and I still got:

This leads me to my quest in tweaking (read: hacking) Smart Bro. Will post some results tomorrow.
Smart Bro wireless internet was installed in my place yesterday. What was advertised is 384kbps (up to 7 times faster than dial-up), but as of tonight, here is what I got:

That is based on SpeakEasy’s Internet Connection Speed Test. But according to the service technician that installed my WiFi antenna (Motorola Canopy), it may take up to 24 hours for my internet connection to eventually burst its speed up. Perhaps, I will need to wait and check my connection speed tomorrow.
Did I mentioned that it took their service technicians around 3 hours to install and configure my computer to connect with Smart Bro? They changed the installed antenna due to “some defects” three times. The antenna was installed around 60 feet off the ground (on our roof, and our house has two floors plus a 25 feet steel pipe that serves as the antenna stand).
In overall, and as of tonight, I am quite happy on my additional internet connection.
Finally, after weeks of trying to ride one of these new coaches, was able to be inside one yesterday on the way to school. Kewl, as in the airconditioning unit is brand new.

It was just confirmed to me this afternoon that my Wednesday class will push thru, due to insistent public (student) demand. Hehehe. So, I will have 12 units this TRIM, and will have classes every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Woaah!
I will be handling one (01) OFMULTI (Tue), one (01) WEBDEV2 (Thu), and one (01) WEBPAGE (Fri) this term (which started yesterday, but my first class will only be starting tonight). Tentatively, one (01) WEBDEV3 (Wed) may also be given to me, that will make my total load to 12 units this term. Wow! Hectic schedule indeed.
Wonder if there will be any familiar face(s) in my class tonight. Perhaps, someone from my BASICOM class two terms ago.
Today, the 9th of January 2007, the Filipino people, devotees from the world all over, celebrate the 400th feast day of the Black Nazarene, popularly known as Señor Nazareno of Quiapo Church.
Viva, Señor Nazareno! May you continue to guide our families and bless each one of us with better health, always.
The Philippines plays host to the 2nd World Pyro Olympics starting the 5th of this month. Rose & I were contented in watching the said event since last year at the comfort of their roofdeck (which is around 2 miles away from the Esplanade — back of the SM Mall of Asia).
But last night was different. After watching a film at the MOA, we decided to wait for the spectacular event. At first, we planned to just stay in one of the resto’s at the back of the MOA, but the queue is very long just to have a table for two. We then decided to purchase the Php100 tickets to gain entrance at the Esplanade, where the event is to happen. After a mile or two of walking, we were finally inside the venue.
Really a once-in-a-lifetime event. Last night, it was UK’s and Germany’s turn to show-off their fire and light prowess. Rose and I are planning to buy the Php500 tickets for Saturday’s grand finale.
