Boyet Shined, Brings Toyota-Otis First Win

The Philippine Baskeball Association (PBL) had just opened last Saturday at the San Andres Gym. Yesterday, Toyota-Otis Sparks won over Hapee-PCU, 77-73.

To quote some clippings in local newspapers and website today about my cousin Boyet Bautista:

Toyota-Otis leaned on Filipino American Joe Devance and peppery guard Boyet Bautista in the crucial stretch to beat Hapee Toothpaste, 77-73, Sunday in the 2006 Philippine Basketball League Unity Cup at the De La Salle Greenhills.

The 6-foot-7 Devance received a perfect pass from Bautista and hit an undergoal shot to give Toyota a decisive 75-73 lead with only 10 seconds remaining in the game.

Hail, Christopher Go!!

Another reason why to be proud of becoming a Filipino:

NASA acknowledged on 03 Mar 2006 the discovery of Jupiter’s new Red Spot (The Great Red Spot is a great anti-cyclonic [high pressure] storm akin to a hurricane on Earth, but it is enormous [three Earths would fit within its boundaries] and it has persisted for at least the 400 years that humans have observed it through telescopes.) called Red Jr. by an amateur Filipino astromer from Cebu, Christopher Go.

Mabuhay ka, Christopher Go! We are proud of you!

Mabuhay, Michael Dell!

Microsoft Delays Vista til January 2007

Microsoft Windows VistaMicrosoft announced that they are delaying the launch of Windows Vista (consumer version), the long overdue update to Windows XP, by January 2007.

The product was originally announced to be launched before the Holidays of 2006. Microsoft however confirmed that the business version of Vista will be out in the market by November 2006.

Swing Out Sister at SM Makati ..

Nope! Don’t get me wrong: SOS will not be in the Philippines, yet. What I want to say is that I am very happy everytime we shop at SM Makati, atleast for the past three weeks.

Three (03) consecutive Sundays that we had been shopping at SM Makati and everytime, the piped-in music will play cuts from different Swing Out Sister albums. How nice of them. Keep those music flowing.

Just wondering, when will SOS be back to Manila? The last time they were here, I was not permitted to watch their concert at the CCP, because I was just eight years old then. Hehehe ..

Writely is Now Part of Google!

Yes! You had heard it right! Writely, the web word processor, has been acquired by Google in an undisclosed amount.

What does this mean to an average (?) internet user like me? Well, worry no more that Writely is not charging us not a single cent. They had also stopped receiving donations since yesterday, following the announcement of the acquisition in both of the companies blogs.

Writely is here to stay!

Are We on Martial Rule?

Yesterday, I saw in the late night news that a Congresswoman was arrested amidst a rally in commemoration of International Women’s Day.

This is not the first time that they had arrested (but according to the PNP, again: it is not an arrest, but rather than an invite) an elected official.

Is martial law already declared? When? I had not heard that martial law was declared again since 1972! Do these cops do not know a thing called as “Parliamentary Immunity”?

Damn! Sayang ang taxes na binabayad namin!
