What’s Wrong with PLDT DNS?

Speaking of DNS names yesterday, I think it’s high time for me to blog on this subject: PLDT DNS.

To those who are using MyDSL, PLDT ADSL, Smart WiFi: “Had you ever experienced (not down time, because it’s a usual thing) not being able to browse to a particular website?”

Quite odd, but it is indeed happening. Some of their subscribers, including me, at times cannot view Google nor Yahoo! for no concrete reasons. When you call their “technical support” the only thing they will tell you is that they will look into the matter. After that, bye bye! See you on the next billing.

What’s in a DNS Name?

Have nothing to do much, yet so I decided to create additional child nameservers to my first Linux server (used for webhosting). I had added bangkal [dot] turfsiteph [dot] net and bicutan [dot] turfsiteph [dot] net. Why bangkal and bicutan? These places are part of my life. I grew up in those places. As my little way of immortalizing fond memories in these places, they will be used in all of my clients’ domains pretty soon.

Gearing Up for .Net

Today, I am starting to gear up (prepare, that is) for Exam 70-536 TS: Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 (Application Development Foundation).

I am not giving myself an ultimatum, just yet, on when I must take the exam. But I am hopeful that before Easter 2006, I will have the above exam crossed-out in my list for me to upgrade my certifications.

All the best!

Thank you! Thank you!

Just got the news: someone is sponsoring my Microsoft Certification Exam this year (for the first quarter)! It was late last year when I decided to upgrade my current MCP to the .Net, and good thing someone was kind-hearted enough to sponsor the exam 100%.

Thank you very much! You know who you are ;) More power! God bless!

Ernie Baron (+)

Just read the in the ABS-CBNnews.com website that Ernie Baron, popular TV personality also known as “The Walking Encyclopedia” passed away early today.

My sincere condolences to his family and love ones.

Truly, I had learned a lot listening to his radio show every night during my high school days.

Town Fiesta & Manny Pacquiao

Yesterday, Manny Pacquiao did every Filipino — young and old, rich or otherwise — very very proud once again! Pacman crushed Erik Morales just minutes on the tenth round of their scheduled 12-rounder in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Also, yesterday was the Town Fiesta of Barangays Bangkal & Pio Del Pilar in Makati City — in honour of San Ildefonso (January 23). Quite odd, because when the time “The Battle” started at around 12nn in Channel 2, the usually busy streets of Evangelista and Antonio Arnaiz (Pasay Road) suddenly got empty! Hehehe. Seems that there is no town fiesta at all — because everyone was stucked to their television sets watching the Pacquiao-Morales fight.

Here are some pics taken from my mobile phone during the festivities in the afternoon (BMX exhibitions & marching bands):
