The Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights grabbed their 16th league-wise championship yesterday at the Big Dome, 62-54 in the deciding best of three game.

The Knights did not gave last year’s champs, the PCU Dolphins, any chance to grab any lead during the entire game. Yes, there were several deadlocks, but not a single chance for the Taft Avenue-based squad to capture the lead.

Coach Louie Alas was named Best Coach of Season 81, while my cousing, Boyet Bautista as Finals MVP. My brother, together with Tito Ludy & Tita Chit (Boyet’s Dad & Mom) with some close friends were at the Big Dome to support the Knights.

Arriba Letran!

Some quotable clips from the news

  • The do-everything point guard was named Finals MVP. It was just appropriate. He shared the team’s scoring honors with Aaron Aban and JP Alcaraz. (Manila Bulletin)
  • The Knights drew explosive performance from Boyet Bautista, who earned the finals Most Valuable Player plum as he combined with Aaron Aban and John Paul Alcaraz to give Letran the initiative throughout en route to its 16th title overall. (Philippine Star)
  • Boyet Bautista, the 21-year-old veteran playmaker from Batangas, was named NCAA Press Corps Finals Most Valuable Player (MVP) as he dropped 13 points on top of five rebounds, four assists and two steals. (http://www.ncaa.org.ph)
  • Bautista started –and ended - the first quarter with a booming three point shot after Letran missed its first two attempts. (http://www.ubelt.com)

    Palm Treo 700w

    Author: admin

Rumors are circulating in the WWW about the launch of the Palm (formerly PalmOne) Treo 700w. What’s new, as you may ask? Well, this “Palm” smartphone is now powered by Windows Mobile 5!

Before this “rumor” circulated, Palm enthusiasts are waiting for the release of the Palm Treo 670 (Rose’s Treo 600, then came the Treo 650).

    An Explosion at the Camp

    Author: admin

It was around 2300H last night (12th of September). I was on my way to my room to sleep, when suddenly there was a loud explosion.

At first, I just thought that it was lightning (because it was raining heavily for almost an hour that time). My dad and brother thought that there was someone on our roof who jumped from the neighbor’s roof.

It was not until this morning when I had learned that the Armory of Camp Bagong Diwa (around 2 miles from our house) exploded that time. The initial cause of the explosion was indeed the lightning strike.

Gosh! That explosion really rocked us.

[Back Row]Me & my brother Kaboom!; [Front Row]Aaron Aban, Boyet Bautista, and Bryan Bautista

Last Saturday, the number of my godchildren was increased by one. I am now “ninong” to Carlrich Lauren Dela Cruz, the firstborn of my cousin Richard and his wife Kyle.

The ceremonies was at the Our Lady of Airways Parish near the airport, and reception followed at Max’s Baclaran. Among the other “ninongs” and “ninangs” are my cousins Boyet Bautista (with me on the pic above), Recelyn (the sister of Richard), and Milette.

Boyet came with two (02) of his teammates from the Letran Knights, though Aaron Aban is the only one I remembered the name. Hehehe.

Welcome to the Christian World, Carlrich Lauren!

    My First OFMULTI Class

    Author: admin

I had officially started Term 2 of SY 2005-2006 last night with my very first OFMULTI Class. It was also my first time to be assigned at Computer Lab 4 (CL4). Nice laboratory, but not as spacious as in the Multimedia Labs.

Also, the partition and sound-proofing is not that good. I can hear the professor lecturing at the lab next to mine (I guess he, too can hear my lectures .. hehehe). Another downside of having a class in a CL instead of an ML: no Macromedia DreamWeaver, FireWorks, and Flash!!

But good thing, the lab technician promised that those softwares will be installed in the PCs by next week.

Some of my former students (in INTRDES - Interface Design for the Web & Multimedia) now do belong to my OFMULTI (Office Multimedia Class).

School official starts today, though as of last night there had been some changes in my load this term.

I will be handling one (01) section of ECOMERS (Electronic Commerce) and two (02) sections of OFMULTI (Office Multimedia). Wow!

My classes now will be every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I guess I’ll just have my consultation period every Saturday morning. Hehe.

    Photo Blogging

    Author: admin

Yesterday, I was at the Glorietta Digital Lounge, trying to scout for a Treo 180 or 270 but to no avail.

I had just decided to drop by the Motorola Concept store and look for a PC cable for my C651. Good thing, they have one! Costs me Php1,050.00 for the USB cable and Mobile PhoneTools CD. Now, I can transfer picture taken from my mobile phone to my PC, without the hefty charges for MMS/GPRS sending.

Starting today, you’ll expect not just an ordinary blog, but I will try my best to make my site a Photo Blog.
